Happy Valentine’s Day to you! Do you remember how exciting Valentine’s Day was when you were a kid? Now multiply that by 15 kids and you’ll see what our week will be like! 

This week in Jesus Time we learn about what Jesus taught about birds and flowers, found in Luke 12:22-32. We learn that Jesus loves and cares for us and provides for all our needs, both physical and spiritual. We can thank Him for His love and what a great week for that! If your child is in daycare, we will have Chapel on Wednesday morning, led by Pastor Paepke, from our sister church Bethlehem Lutheran. Our Chapel offering for February goes to Zion Food Bank. Food donations, as well as monetary, are welcome this month.
We will continue with some valentine activities this week. On Tuesday we will make a special valentine for our parents and make a book to read with some heart stickers. We will also go to the library on Tuesday.
On Thursday we will make some valentine hats to wear and then our Valentine party will begin at 10AM. We will be making ice cream sundaes, playing some games and passing out our valentines.

Remember, that there will be no school or daycare for grades kindergarten through grade 5 on Friday, BUT PRESCHOOL and PRESCHOOL DAYCARE WILL BE IN SESSION. We will be having pizza and fruit for hot lunch.
There will be NO SCHOOL or DAYCARE on Monday, Feb. 18, as we celebrate Presidents’ Day. School and daycare will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 19.

We have had a lot of sickness going through preschool and the school. If your child is running a fever or just not acting like themselves, please keep them home. We’ve had a plethera of ear infections, strep throat and also influenza A and B. Even I caught something!

This is the last week to bring in your pennies! We are working on a new service project called Pennies for Patients where we try to collect as many pennies (and other coins) for the continuing research of childhood leukemia. Our goal is to raise $1,000 and we have surpassed it as of last week! How awesome! Thanks for your help and let’s see how much farther we can go!

I invite you to join us for Lenten services on Wednesdays here at Zion. Services are held at 10AM and 7PM. There is a light supper served at 5:20PM. If you don’t have a church home, please come and prepare your hearts to remember the sacrifice that Jesus made just for you. Remember, God gave up His child in order to keep you. Would you be willing to do the same?
