Dear Preschool parents (MWF parents),

Wow! September is flying by! Be looking for the October snack and show & tell calendars in the folders at the end of this week!

This week in Jesus Time we learn about Noah and the flood, found in Genesis 6-9. We learn that God is always with us. He loves us and helps us.
We will be having some fun with leaves and fall this week. We will start by making leaf prints and seeing what we know about leaves and fall. We will do some sorting and patterning in our centers on Friday with leaves. COULD YOU PLEASE HELP YOUR CHILD BRING A BAGGIE FULL OF LEAVES ON FRIDAY? We will be water coloring some leaf shapes and be making some leaf rubbings. We will also do a number review on Wednesday, along with some assessment for color recognition. We will begin with the alphabet next week!
We have Chapel on Wednesday morning at 8:30AM, led by Mr. Sagissor, our 5th grade teacher, and helped out by Miss Nora and her puppets. Our Chapel offering this month goes to one of our young church families, the Pounds. Baby Noah was born with a cleft lip and palate and some serious heart defects. Our offering is going to help defray some of Baby Noah’s medical bills. Use the little envelopes for offering, if you want. Baby Noah has surgery scheduled on Sept. 25 for his cleft lip and palate. I’m sure the family could use prayers, too.
We will also have Library on Wednesday. Please make help your child bring back the book they checked out last week so that they may check out another.
We will have choir on Friday. We are practicing a medley of songs for Zion School’s 50th anniversary celebration. We will sing as a school at the 10:45AM worship service on Sept. 30. If you don’t have a church home, I invite you to come and worship with us and help us celebrate the blessings that God has given us these past 50 years! Your child sits with you during the service and then comes up to sing. They then go back to sit with you. We will have a potluck meal after the service and then the classrooms will be open for everyone to visit.
The lunch menu orders are in the folders of the daycare kids. If your child is going to eat hot lunch next week, please indicate which days and return to me by Wednesday. We have to call in the order on Friday. Also please note the number of milks and lunches remaining for your child. If you need to purchase more, remember that the lunches are $3 apiece and milks are $0.30 each. You can buy as many as you want. Make your check payable to Zion and mark how many lunches/milks you’re purchasing on the memo line.

REMINDER: Cookie dough orders are due on Monday, Oct. 1. The pick-up date for the dough is Friday, Oct. 12 in the gym. If you cannot pickup your dough, please make arrangements with a friend or something. We don’t have enough extra freezer space to store dough. Thanks for helping us out with this first fundraiser!

THIS HAPPENS NEXT WEEK! There will be no preschool classes on Thursday and Friday, October 4 & 5. We will have daycare on Thursday, Oct. 4 from 7AM UNTIL 11:15AM. The rest of the school dismisses at 11:15AM and so will daycare. There will be no lunch served. We will have 10 spots available, so if your child is one of our daycare kids and you need this service for those hours, let me know ASAP. The spots are first come, first serve.
