What beautiful weather God has blessed us with this week! The trees are beginning to change colors and are just amazing. Make sure to take a moment as you drive around town to appreciate God’s artistry with your child!
A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about Jacob’s dream, found in Genesis 27-28. We learn that God sends His angels to protect us and can thank God for His angels. Our Bible words are from Psalm 91:11, “God will command His angels…to guard you in all your ways.”
Monday-We will be working on our Art to Remember projects—handprint butterflies. Art to Remember is a company that takes your child’s artwork and can put it on magnets, key chains, coffee mugs, t-shirts, etc. They do make great Christmas gifts for the grandparents! We will also be sorting a variety of pictures into fall or summer categories.
Wednesday-We will have Chapel in the afternoon, led by Pastor Jones from Bethlehem Lutheran. The morning class will have Jesus Time in our room. We will be working on letter Bb this week. Please help your child bring something that begins with Letter Bb on Wednesday. We will also be visiting our library so bring that book back, too!
Friday-We will have centers that include making leaf patterns on a crown, counting and one-to-one correspondence, hunting for letter Bb and number recognition of the numbers 1, 2, and 3. We will also make a fall emergent reader book. Ask your child to “read” it to you at home. Repetition/memorizing and using picture clues to help decipher the words are skills that beginning readers use a lot!

From the Teacher’s Desk:
*There will be no preschool or daycare on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 7 & 8 because the teachers have a SD Lutheran Teachers Conference in Chamberlain. There will also be no preschool or daycare on Monday, Oct. 11 for the Columbus/Native American Day.
*October book orders are in the folders. Please have them returned by Friday, Oct. 1 if you’d like to order. If you would like to order on-line and pay with a credit card, log on to www.scholastic.com to set up your own password account.
Special Thanks: A big thank you goes to Scott Frerking (Ben’s dad—3’s class) for cutting some PVC pipes for our new Pipe Construction set. We will begin exploring with them next week!
