Sept. 20-24, 2010 Knowing Jesus, Growing in Faith, Serving God’s Children
Dear Preschool parents, www.zioncrusaders.org
We say goodbye to summer and hello to fall this week! Please remember to send jackets now as the mornings and afternoons can get cooler up here on the hill. It would also be a good time to change the extra clothes in your child’s backpack from shorts and short-sleeved shirts to pants and long sleeves. Thanks!
A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about Noah and the flood, found in Genesis 6-9. We learn that God is always with us. He loves and helps us. Our Bible words for this week are from Numbers 10:29, “The Lord has promised good things.”
Monday-We have some fun sponge painting leaves to decorate our room. We will also sort leaves according to color, shape and size. We will be finishing name recognition assessment and begin color recognition assessment.
Wednesday-We will have chapel in the morning with Pastor Bobby from Our Redeemer Lutheran. This month our Chapel offering goes to help Main Street Living, a Lutheran TV broadcast. The afternoon class will have Jesus Time in our room. We will be going to the school library to check out books. We will also begin working with the alphabet. Please help your child bring something that begins with letter Aa on Wednesday. It will come right home the same day.
Friday-We will have centers that include playing a fall concentration game, practicing some one-to-one correspondence, looking for letter Aa and listening to a story about a leaf. Please help your child bring a leaf to school on Friday. We will be making a book about our leaf. We will also have a lockdown assembly & then practice a hard lockdown.
Letter of the Week: Letter Aa
Books of the Week: Ellen B. Senisi’s Fall Changes and Steve Metzger’s We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt
