What a great first week of preschool! Your children did a great job and today we get to combine all of the three year olds for the first time! How exciting! Maybe you could pray for us…

A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about when God made the animals and people, found in Genesis 1:24-31 and 2:7-3:15. We learn that God made animals for us to enjoy and care for. He made people and wants us to care for His creation. Sin messed up God’s perfect world, but God made a plan for make things right again through Jesus, who came to save us from our sins.
Tuesday- We will be painting our handprints to help moms and dads remember these special days. We will also play a “toss the ball” game to get to know one another’s’ names and favorite foods. We will visit our school library for the first time to check out a book to share with our moms and dads. Books need to be returned by the next Tuesday in order to get a new one.
Thursday- We will make paper plate faces and play a “Who’s Missing?” game as continue to learn each other’s names. We will also meet Hickety Pickety Bumblebee, who will help us hear one another’s names again. We will have a fire drill, too.

From the Teacher’s Desk:
*The beginning of the new Sunday School year is this Sunday, Sept. 12. All of Zion’s students will be singing for the services, usually at the end of the 8:00 and the beginning of the 10:45 services. There will be Sunday School at 9:30 and a potluck and games will follow the late service. Please join us for a great time!
*September book orders are due this week. If you’d like to order, mark the form and make checks payable to Scholastic Book Clubs. If you want to order from both Firefly and HoneyBee, just combine the totals and make one check. You can also order online with your credit card. Please see enclosed flyer about ordering online. Orders need to be submitted or turned into me by Sept. 9.
*Wednesday night classes begin this Wednesday. A light supper is served from 5:15-6PM ($2.50/person or $10/family). Classes begin at 6PM. We have 2 adult classes this season—one on God’s Word and our nation’s founding fathers and another on youth/adult relationships and understanding our youth. We also have a hand ball and an adult choir that practices during this time. If you need more info, just ask!

If your child is in daycare: We have Chapel this Wednesday with Chaplain Wilson. Our Chapel offerings this month go to help support Main Street Living. Feel free to use the little envelopes for any offering.
