May 17-21, 2010 Knowing Jesus, Growing in Faith, Serving God’s Children Dear Preschool parents, www.zioncrusaders.org
This is our last full week of preschool! In a week and a half your preschooler will be on their way to begin the kindergarten journey.
A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about Dorcas, found in Acts 9:36-43. We learn that God helps us see the needs of others and helps us share His good gifts with them because of Jesus. Our Bible words are from Hebrews 13:16, “Do not forget…to share with others.”
Monday-We will visit Old MacDonald’s Farm with both classes. The AM class will be leaving at 9:15AM and will be back by 11:15AM. The PM class will leave at 1PM and will be back by 3PM. Your child needs $5 for this field trip. We will also practice for our preschool plays.
Wednesday-We will have Chapel in the morning, led by Pastor Lindenberg, from Peace Lutheran. Our Chapel offering this month goes to Bridges of Hope. Our Preschool play is Wednesday night at 7PM. Your child does not need to wear anything fancy—we just have masks to wear. The plays are cute, but short, so you can still get your little one to bed at a decent time. Please have your child to the preschool room by 6:45PM.
Friday-We will have centers that include a listening center about a caterpillar named Charlie and sorting various items based on their beginning sound. We will also go on a bug hunt in our backyard.

From the Teacher’s Desk:
*Preschool Graduation will be on Wednesday, May 26 right after chapel that morning. Chapel begins at 8:30AM. That will be our last day of school and daycare. We will have a cake reception after graduation and then you are free to begin your summer vacation, but we will have daycare until 11:15AM for those that need it.
*There is information about the public library’s summer reading program in the folders. Please remember to read, read, read to your child this summer. Studies have shown that children who are read to regularly become better readers themselves. There is also a card in the folders about a school survey. Please take just a few minutes to give us some feedback about Zion Lutheran School and let us know in what ways you’ve been blessed and in what ways we can improve. Thanks in advance!
Have a great week! Please feel free to call me anytime with questions or concerns. Zion 342-5749 Cell 391-9046 email: devinandhope@hotmail.com
