Here we are at the last week of April! It seems just like yesterday I was trying to get ready for Easter.
A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about Jesus’ ascension, found in Acts 1:3-12 and Matthew 28:20. We learn that Jesus promises to be with us always. He went back to heaven to prepare a place for us so that someday we can be in heaven with Him. Our Bible words are from Matthew 28:20, “[Jesus said,} ‘I am with you always’.”
Monday-We will take a look at a flower catalogue and free paint flowers. We will also watch a movie clip that shows a plant growing.
Wednesday-We will have Chapel in the afternoon, led by our first graders. Our Chapel offering this month goes to help Dakota Boys Ranch. We will play some alphabet bingo to review our letter and sounds. We will also visit our school library to check out new books.
Friday-We will have centers that include sorting items according to their beginning sounds, pulling a print off the table onto a flower-shaped paper and matching upper- and lowercase letters. We will take a look at the seeds that are in some of the foods we eat and even sample those foods, such as tomatoes, apples, strawberries, cucumbers and the like.

From the Teacher’s Desk:
*PTL will sponsor a night at Chuck E. Cheese on April 27 from 3-9PM. A portion of sales will come back to Zion School! He will also be at the school Tuesday at 2:30PM to kick things off!
*PTL will sponsor a Family Dance Night (in lieu of the end of year picnic) on Friday, May 7th from 7-9PM. We will have a DJ and a 50’s & 70’s theme, with lots of group dances to learn as a family. It’ll be a blast!
*There will be no preschool or daycare on Friday, May 14 due to the track meet.
*Mark your calendars! The Preschool play will be on Wednesday, April 19 at 7PM. The two classes will act out two different stories, complete with talking parts and mask costumes. It’s a fun, quick evening and don’t forget your camera!
*Preschool Graduation will be on Wednesday, May 26 right after chapel that morning. That will be our last day of school and daycare. We will have a cake reception after graduation and then you are free to begin your summer vacation, but we will have daycare until 11:15AM for those that need it.
