We are down to about 2 weeks with our chicken eggs! It will be a really exciting beginning of May!
A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about the Great Commission, found in Matthew 28:16-20. We learn that Jesus loves all people everywhere. He wants us to tell others of His great love for them so they can also be in God’s family. Our Bible words are from Mark 16:15, “Go…and [tell] the good news to all.”
Monday-We will make a picture of a sunflower with some different textures. We will also learn about the different parts of a plant. We will begin an experiment with a sweet potato to see if we can get it to grow new roots and vines.
Wednesday-We will have Chapel in the morning, with Pastor Bobby, from Our Redeemer Lutheran. Our Chapel offering this month goes to help Dakota Boys Ranch. We will be working with Letter Zz this week. Please help your child bring something that begins with Zz to school. The kids are so excited to be able to bring home their alphabet books! We will also visit our school library to check out new books.
Friday-We will have centers that include recognizing and building our classmates’ names and planting sunflower seeds. We will also play plant bingo with the numbers 11-19, to help with number recognition.

From the Teacher’s Desk:
*Thanks to all who participated or shopped the Consignment Sale! It was a great year for it! We will be doing it again next year, so if it snuck up on you this year, tuck those clothes and toys away until 2011 and plan on making some extra money and helping support our school!
*PTL will sponsor a night at Chuck E. Cheese on April 27 from 3-9PM. A portion of sales will come back to Zion School!
*PTL will sponsor a Family Dance Night (in lieu of the end of year picnic) on Friday, May 7th from 7-9PM. We will have a DJ and a 50’s theme, with lots of group dances to learn as a family. It’ll be a blast!
*There will be no preschool or daycare on Friday, May 14 due to the track meet.
*Preschool Graduation will be on Wednesday, May 26 right after chapel that morning. That will be our last day of school and daycare. You will be able to leave after graduation is over, but we will have daycare until 11:15AM for those that need it.
