Spring has sprung and what beautiful weather God gave us this past weekend! I hope that you all were able to get outside and enjoy it with your children. It sounds so nice to hear a chance of rain showers rather than snow showers!
A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about when children praised Jesus on Palm Sunday, found in Matthew 21:7-11, 14-16. We learn that Jesus loves all people and took all their sins on Himself. He was punished for us and we praise Him for His love. Our Bible words are from Psalm 31:23, “Love the Lord.”
Tuesday-We will make our own construction paper palm branches and have a “Hosanna” parade around the school. We will practice our eye-hand coordination and turn-taking as we play a game where we pass a plastic Easter egg around the carpet on spoons. We will also visit our school library.
Thursday-We will sponge paint the windows to look a little more “springy” and practice our cutting to make rabbit ears for a rhythm folksong called “Old John the Rabbit.” We will also get our pictures taken. Send back the selection form for backgrounds, but no money yet. This is a new fundraiser for us and you only buy if you want.

From the Teacher’s Desk:
*Preschool registration for 2010-2011 opened to Zion church and school families on Monday, March 22. The enrollment fee this year is $60. If your child will be returning, you can enroll for either the AM or PM class. Preschool registration will open to the community on Tuesday, April 6th. If you have any questions, please ask!
**Zion PTL will host a Family Fellowship night at the indoor pool on Friday, March 26 from 6:30-8:30PM. The price is $3.50 per person.
*Mark your calendars! We will have no school/daycare from Thursday, Apr. 1-Monday, Apr. 5 for Easter break! Everything will resume on Tuesday, April 6.
*Zion’s Easter Egg Hunt will be on Saturday, April 3 at 9AM. If your child is participating, please bring one dozen filled plastic Easter eggs to the front office.
*Zion PTL’s Children’s Clothing and Toy Consignment Sale is coming faster than you think! The sale will be here April 15-17. See Miss Nora or myself to register or come on that Friday and Saturday to shop!
If your child is in daycare: We will have Chapel on Wednesday morning, led by Pastor Bobby, from Our Redeemer Lutheran Our Chapel offerings this month go to help support Jason Duley, one of our former students studying at the seminary to become a pastor.
