We are at the last week of February! We have a full week and lots to do, so read on!
A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about Mary and Martha, found in Luke 10:38-42. We learn that God wants us to know His great love for us in Jesus; He wants us to praise Him by listening to His word. This is a good lesson for adults, too—to remember that take some time to spend in Bible study and fellowship with God amid our busy schedules. Our Bible words are from Matthew 11:29,” [Jesus said,] Learn from Me.”
Monday-We continue learning about dental health by painting a “tartar” tooth white again with toothbrushes. We will also do an experiment with 2 crunchy foods—Oreos and apples. We will see how the Oreos stick in our teeth and really make them dirty, but the apples act as little toothbrushes and clean those cookies out of our teeth.
Wednesday-We will have Chapel in the morning, led by Pastor Jones from Bethlehem Lutheran. Our Chapel offering this month goes to help support Zion’s food bank. Your child is welcome to bring either non-perishable food items or monetary offerings this month. We will be working with Letter Rr this week. Please help your child bring something that begins with Rr to school. We will also visit our school library to check out new books.
Friday-We will have centers that include fishing for alphabet teeth, listening to a story about a walrus with tooth troubles and some assessment to get ready for conferences next Friday. We will also watch a short movie from the Crest company about brushing teeth.

*The March book orders will be in the folders later this week. If you would like to order, please make checks payable to “Scholastic Book Club” or go online to order at www.scholastic.com. Our username is “MrsGenzlingersClass” and the password is “books.” Please return orders by March 3.
*If your child is here for daycare next Tuesday, March 2—we will be celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday at the school by wearing our pajamas! Please remember to send extra pants and shoes for recess, though! 
*There will be no preschool or enrichment on Friday, Mar. 5 as I will be having parent-teacher conferences that day. These spring conferences are optional. I will be sending home conference forms soon if you would like to have a conference. Kindergarten through grade 5 will also dismiss at 11:15AM that day for teacher in-service.
*Lutheran Schools Week is coming! There is a list of special events for LSW on the back of this note. The whole school will be singing in church on Sunday, March 7 at both the 8AM and 10:45AM service. This is a special week where we give thanks to God that we can teach, learn and love Jesus at our school!
