I hope that you all had a great Valentine’s weekend! It’s so important to let our family know how much we love them!
PLEASE SEND YOUR CHILD’S TOOTHBRUSH (IN A BAGGIE) TO SCHOOL ON THURDAY.
A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about when Jesus stopped a storm, found in Matthew 8:23-27. We learn that we do not need to be afraid, for God is with us. He watches over us and protects us. Our Bible words are from Psalm 145:3,”Great is the Lord.”
Tuesday-We will switch themes this week to dental health. We will be painting with toothbrushes. We will take a look at some different items that help keep our teeth healthy and play a memory game with them. We will also visit our school library.
Thursday-We will make a tooth brushing chart to bring home. We will graph the colors of our toothbrushes, so we will need those toothbrushes sent from home!
Books of the Week: Just Going to the Dentist by Mercer Mayer and The Tooth Book by Dr. Seuss
From the Teacher’s Desk:
*There will be no preschool/daycare on Friday, Mar. 5 as I will be having parent-teacher conferences that day. These spring conferences are optional. Forms will be coming home soon to indicate whether or not you’d like a conference. Kindergarten through grade 5 will dismiss at 11:15AM for teacher in-service that afternoon.
*Preschool registration for 2010-2011 will open to Zion church and school families on Monday, March 22. I will be sending home a letter and enrollment form on March 1st. The enrollment fee this year is $60. If your child will be returning, you can enroll for either the AM or PM class. Preschool registration will open to the community on Tuesday, April 6th.
If your child is in daycare: We will have Chapel on Wednesday afternoon, led by the 3rd graders. Our Chapel offerings this month go to Zion’s Food Bank. Your child is welcome to bring either non-perishable food items or monetary offerings this month.
