Good morning and BRRRRRRR! You might want to send your child in double layers on these really cold mornings. Our room takes about half a day to warm up to comfortable temperatures!
A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about when Jesus healed 10 men with leprosy, found in Luke 17:11-19. We learn that Jesus promises to answer our prayers, to be with us when we are sick, and to give us what we need (mind you, what we need, not always what we want.) Our Bible words are from Jeremiah 33:3,”Call to Me and I will answer you.”
Monday-We will be doing some free paint on heart shaped paper. We will also make a valentine book to bring home and share with you. I will also begin spring assessment with your child.
Wednesday-We will have Chapel in the morning with Pastor Lindenberg, from Peace Lutheran. Our Chapel offering this month goes to help support Zion’s food bank. Your child is welcome to bring either non-perishable food items or monetary offerings this month. We will be working with Letter Pp this week. Please help your child bring something that begins with Pp to school. We will also visit our school library to check out new books.
Friday- We will have centers that include a counting hearts game that helps with one-to-correspondence and one that will help us practice writing our letters. Our Valentine parties will begin at 10AM for the morning class and 1:45PM for the afternoon class. We will be enjoying some ice cream sundaes, making special valentine hats and passing out our valentines to our friends. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THERE WILL BE NO AFTERCARE ON FRIDAY.

From the Teacher’s Desk:
*Thank you to everyone who went with us to the Stock Show last week! We had a great time and came back to all accounted for! 
*No school or daycare on Monday, Feb. 15 for the Presidents’ Day holiday.
*There is a sign-up in the hallway for Kindergarten Screening. If you plan on sending your child to Zion for kindergarten, please sign your child up to be screened on Friday, Mar. 19. Your child will be pulled from preschool that day to be screened during class time and you may fill out paperwork and leave a check with Mrs. Sayles that day. Your child’s screening results will be in their folders when you come to get them. If we have too many signed up for Mar. 19, we will also screen our preschoolers on Mar. 26. If this would happen to your child, you may still leave payment on Mar. 19.
*There will be no preschool or enrichment on Friday, Mar. 5 as I will be having parent-teacher conferences that day. These spring conferences are optional. I will be sending home conference forms soon if you would like to have a conference. Kindergarten through grade 5 will also dismiss at 11:15AM that day for teacher in-service.
