Winter is back! Remember to send your child with hats and mittens this week.
A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about when Jesus chose the 12 disciples, found in Matthew 4:18-22. We learn that Jesus chose His disciples to follow Him and be His helpers here on earth. He also calls us to be His helpers, and He helps us to show love to one another. Our Bible words are from John 13:34, ”[Jesus said,] Love one another.”
Tuesday-We will move on to a Wild West theme this week as we get ready for our Stock Show field trip next Thursday. We will learn about cows today. We will paint cows and learn some different facts about cows. We will also visit our school library.
Thursday-I will be gone on Thursday to a Love and Logic conference, but Mrs. Green and Miss Amy will have things covered. We will talk about being a cowboy or cowgirl—things they might see and things they might use on the job. Your little cowpoke can even try some prickly pear cactus jelly, if they’re feeling adventurous. We will also have a hearing screening—if it’s anything more than selective hearing, I’ll let you know! 

From the Teacher’s Desk:
*Stock Show field trip! We will be going to visit the Stock Show and Rodeo on Thursday, Feb. 4th. We will need to leave school by 8:30AM and will return by 11:15AM for dismissal. If you would be able to help drive and hang out with us, please let me know!
*Thursday, Feb. 11 will be the day of our Valentine’s party. Your child is welcome to bring valentines for classmates. I’ll be sending home a class list on Thursday.
If your child is in daycare: We will have Chapel on Wednesday afternoon led by Mrs. Graumann’s kindergarten. Our Chapel offerings this month go to the Water Project in Ghana, Africa.
Also, a heads up for Friday, Feb. 12—there will be no aftercare on that day as kindergarten through grade 5 will be having parent-teacher conferences that afternoon. Please remember that everything will dismiss at 3PM.
