January 25-29, 2010 Knowing Jesus, Growing in Faith, Serving God’s Children Dear Preschool parents, www.zioncrusaders.org
Wowee! Hold onto your child today—don’t let them blow away! I always tease the preschoolers that I’m going to just tie a string to their ankles and hold them like a bunch of balloons when it’s so windy like today!
A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about when Jesus blessed the children, found in Mark 10:13-16. We learn that Jesus welcomes all people to Himself to love and bless. Our Bible words are from Mark 10:14, ”[Jesus said,} Let the little children come to Me.”
Monday-We delve into a new theme as we get ready to visit the Stock Show next week—the Wild West. We will be talking about the dry, dusty weather in the West and make cactus. We will also begin talking about some things cowboys and cowgirls might use on their job. We will also be starting some Valentine’s activities, too, as that is fast approaching.
Wednesday-W will have Chapel in the afternoon led by Mrs. Graumann’s kindergarten class. Our Chapel offering this month goes to help support the Water Project in Ghana, Africa. We will be working with Letter Oo this week. Please help your child bring something that begins with Letter Oo on Wednesday. We will also visit the school library. We will have hearing screening, too.
Friday- We will have centers that include cutting out some cowboy hats and sorting a cattle herd. We will also have a campfire to sit around and talk about cowboy stuff.

From the Teacher’s Desk:
*Stock Show Field Trip! We will be visiting the Stock Show and Rodeo on Wednesday, Feb. 3. The AM class will be leaving school by 9:30AM and will be back for 11:15AM dismissal. The PM class will be leaving school by 12:30PM and will be back for dismissal at 3PM. If you would be able to help drive and chaperone, please let me know!
*Just a heads up about Feb. 12th. We will have our Valentine Day’s parties on that day. There will also be no aftercare that day as kindergarten through grade 5 will be having parent-teacher conferences in the afternoon. All preschool classes and preschool daycare will dismiss at 3PM. There will also be no school or daycare on the following Monday for Presidents’ Day. I will be sending home class lists this week, so that you may begin working on Valentines cards, if you like. It is a wonderful opportunity for your child to do some real-life writing, but you’ll only want to do a handful a night so they don’t get frustrated.
Have a great week! Please feel free to call me anytime with questions or concerns.
