Did you know that our school year is half over? The time does fly when you’re having fun! And it sounds like God is giving us a little reprieve from the cold this week. Make sure to send boots for recess time as it will most likely get pretty slushy. We don’t want to add any more work to Mr. Grueschow’s day! Remember that school and daycare will dismiss at 11:15AM on Friday (there will be no PM class on Friday) and no school on next Monday.
A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about boy Jesus in the temple, found in Luke 2:41-52. We learn that God sends people, such as teachers, pastors and parents, to help us learn about Him and about Jesus, our Savior. Our Bible words are from Micah 4:2, ”[God] will teach us His ways.”
Monday-We will be continue our theme of winter and snow. We will be making snowmen out of doilies and various art materials. It’s wonderful how creative your children can be! We had so much fun last Friday with our melt-the-ice cube game that we are going to relive part of it as we take a closer look at what putting salt on ice does. We will add some food coloring this time so that we’ll be able to see the process better. January book orders are due today.
Wednesday-W will have Chapel in the afternoon led by Mrs. Withee’s kindergarten class. Our Chapel offering this month goes to help support the Water Project in Ghana, Africa. We will be working with Letter Mm this week. Please help your child bring something that begins with Letter Mm on Wednesday. We will also visit the school library.
Friday-ONLY THE AM CLASS MEETS TODAY! We will have centers that include cutting snowflakes, matching upper- and lowercase letters and comparing two sets of numbers. We will also have a paper snowball fight to help us with letter recognition.

From the Teacher’s Desk:
*The Stock Show is coming to town. I’m waiting to hear back from the educational coordinator about a field trip for us. I’ll let you know as soon as I can as we will need drivers and chaperones to go with us!
*Just a heads up about Feb. 12th. We will have our Valentine Day’s parties on that day. There will also be no aftercare that day as kindergarten through grade 5 will be having parent-teacher conferences in the afternoon. All preschool classes and preschool daycare will dismiss at 3PM. There will also be no school or daycare on the following Monday for Presidents’ Day.
