Welcome back! I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving break. These next 3 weeks are full of fun and busyness! Remember that our Preschool-Kindergarten Christmas Service is this coming Sunday at 4PM! Your child just needs to wear “church” or Christmas clothes for the service as we do not have any costume parts. Please bring your child to the preschool room by 3:45PM.
A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about when baby Jesus was born, found in Luke 2:1-7. We learn that God’s Son, Jesus, true God, humbled Himself to be born as a human in order to grow and become our Savior. Our Bible words are from John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Tuesday-We will be making paper Advent wreaths to bring home. Each week you can have your child glue on a candle “flame” as we count down to Christmas. We will have Christmas Service practice, getting used to the risers. We will also visit our school library. Picture Retakes are today from 8-10AM! If your child needs retakes, you must make sure to bring back the complete picture packet.
Thursday-We will have some fun decorating some paper stockings and doing a final dress rehearsal for the Christmas Service. We will also have a special mountain lion safety presentation from the Game, Fish and Parks Dept.

From the Teacher’s Desk:
*The December book orders are due today! We will be doing a book exchange during our Christmas party on Dec. 17 and the book orders have some great selections for a great price. If you would like to order online, please go to www.scholastic.com, username is “MrsGenzlingersClass” and the password is “books.”
*Our last day of school for 2009 will be on Friday, Dec. 18th. We will have daycare until 5:30PM that day. School and daycare will resume on Monday, January 4th.
*Zion’s Youth will have a babysitting night on Friday, Dec. 11 from 5:30-9PM if you need some kid-free time to finish shopping or just need a break. Suggested donation is $2/per kid per hour. Sign up on the Youth Board by the front bathrooms.
*Zion’s Advent services will be on the first three Wednesdays in December at 10AM and 7PM. You and are family are welcome to come prepare for the Christ Child’s coming with us!
If your child is in daycare: We will have own Chapel with kindergarten on Wednesday morning, as grades 1-5 will attend the Advent services. Mrs. Withee will lead our worship this week. Our Chapel offerings for this month go to help support our local Christian radio stations.
