November 23-27, 2009 Knowing Jesus, Growing in Faith, Serving God’s Children
Dear Preschool parents, www.zioncrusaders.org
This week will be a very short one for us as we will only have class on Tuesday. Hopefully, you’ll all be enjoying some turkey and stuffing and family, thanking God for all your blessings on Thursday!
A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about when the angel Gabriel visited Mary, found in Luke 1:26-33, 46-55. We learn that God gave Mary the Good News message that soon Jesus, the Savior, would be born. That Good News message is for us too: God sent Jesus to be our Savior. Our Bible words are from Psalm 81:1, “Sing for joy to God.”
Tuesday-We will be making our own little pizza for our snack. We will also make some turkeys out of circles and triangles. We will also visit our library on Tuesday, so bring those books back! Christmas service practice is also on the schedule.
Thursday-Happy Thanksgiving! No school or daycare on Thursday or Friday

From the Teacher’s Desk:
*Zion will have Thanksgiving services on Wednesday at 7PM and Thursday at 10AM. Come and thank God for all the blessings that God has given you!
*There will be a book fair going on Wednesday. Check out the various selections! The more books bought mean the more books that we get to choose for the classrooms and library!
*I will be sending home the December book order this week. The November order is shipped and on its way, but I want to be able to send in December’s in order to make sure that we will get it back before we break for Christmas. We will also be doing a book exchange during our Christmas party on Dec. 17 and the book orders have some great selections for a great price. Please have it back to me by Dec. 1st.
*Our last day of school for 2009 will be on Friday, Dec. 18th. We will have daycare until 5:30PM that day. School and daycare will resume on Monday, January 4th.
*Our Christmas service will be on Sunday, Dec. 6th at 4PM. This service will include both preschool and kindergarten. Come early to get a seat and don’t forget the camera!
*Zion will have a float in Saturday’s Parade of Lights beginning at 6PM downtown. Come enjoy the display and cheer for our float.
*Zion will also be having a crèche display next Sunday and a special oatmeal and ice cream social during the Sunday School hour at 9:30AM! According to Pastor Duley, it’s fantastic!
If your child is in daycare: We will have Chapel on Wednesday morning, led by our Pastor Duley. If your child would like to bring a grandparent or other special guest for the morning, they are sure welcome to. All classes and daycare will dismiss at 11:15AM on Wednesday. Our Chapel offerings for this month go to Alaska Mission for Christ.
I pray that you all have a blessed Thanksgiving celebration and be safe. Please feel free to call me anytime with questions or concerns.
