November 23-27, 2009 Knowing Jesus, Growing in Faith, Serving God’s Children Dear Preschool parents, www.zioncrusaders.org
This will be a short week for us as we have only two and a half days this week because of Thanksgiving. We’re very excited about our grandparents and other guests coming to visit on Wednesday!
A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about when the angel Gabriel visited Mary, found in Luke 1:26-33, 46-55. We learn that God gave Mary the Good News message that soon Jesus, the Savior, would be born. That Good News message is for us too: God sent Jesus to be our Savior. Our Bible words are from Psalm 81:1, “Sing for joy to God.”
Monday-We will be making some turkey hats to help spice up our presentation on Wednesday. We will also be talking about the Mayflower and making a picture of it to bring home. We will also have Christmas service practice.
Wednesday-GRANDPARENTS’ DAY! BOTH classes are invited to come to chapel at 8:30AM along with their grandparents or other guests (moms and dads are fine, too). We will then have a little preschool-kindergarten presentation after chapel. Cookies and juice/coffee will follow and then we are done and ready to begin Thanksgiving break. We usually get done around 9:30-10AM. There will be enrichment for those that need to stay until the other classes dismiss at 11:15AM, but there will be no lunch or daycare after 11:15AM. We will not be going to our school library on Wednesday, so you can either hold onto that book one more week or turn it in and be ready for next week…your choice. We will not have school or daycare on Thursday or Friday.
Friday-No school or daycare

From the Teacher’s Desk:
*Zion will have Thanksgiving services on Wednesday at 7PM and Thursday at 10AM. Come and thank God for all the blessings that God has given you!
*There will be a book fair going on through Grandparents’ Day. Check out the various selections! The more books bought mean the more books that we get to choose for the classrooms and library!
*I will be sending home the December book order this week. The November order is shipped and on its way, but I want to be able to send in December’s in order to make sure that we will get it back before we break for Christmas. We will also be doing a book exchange during our Christmas parties on Dec. 18 and the book orders have some great selections for a great price. Please have it back to me by Dec. 2nd.
*Our last day of school for 2009 will be on Friday, Dec. 18th. We will have daycare until 5:30PM that day. School and daycare will resume on Monday, January 4th.
*Mark your calendar because it’ll be here before we know it! Our Christmas service will be on Sunday, Dec. 6th at 4PM. This service will include both preschool and kindergarten. Come early to get a seat and don’t forget the camera!
Thank you for blessing us with your children. Have a blessed Thanksgiving celebration and be safe. Please feel free to call me anytime with questions or concerns.
