Here we are at the last week of October! The time just seems to fly by! Our food drive challenge ends this Wednesday. If you can, please send those last food items! Thanks!

A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about when Hannah prayed for a baby, found in 1 Samuel 1:1-28 and 2:19. We learn that God answers our prayers and blesses us with many good gifts. Our Bible words are from Psalm 107:1, “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.”

Tuesday- We have some fun with pumpkins this week. We will be painting paper plate pumpkins, help take out the insides of a pumpkin and play a “pass the pumpkin” game. We will also visit our library and check out new books. Art to Remember is due today!

Thursday- We will make our own snack—pumpkins made from marshmallows and apple cinnamon Cheerios! We will also play a game called “Who Took the Pumpkin from the Pumpkin Patch?” that helps us with name recogition.

From the Teacher’s Desk:
*The parent-teacher conference times go home this week. If you cannot make your scheduled time, please call or see me to make other arrangements. There will be no preschool on Thursday or Friday, Nov. 5 & 6. There will be preschool daycare and before care on Thursday from 7:00-11:15AM, but nothing after 11:15AM or on Friday.
*We don’t wear our costumes or have a Halloween party during school hours, but you are invited to attend our “Trunk or Treat” event on Saturday from 5-8PM. There will be lots of candy, games, hot chocolate and hayrides. If you are planning to attend, we ask that you donate one bag of candy for each child coming. These can go in the front office.
*Don’t forget to change your clocks back one hour on Saturday night. I know—one extra hour of sleep for you and an extra hour to digest all that sugar for your kids! Yeah!
*We have some new Love and Logic materials available for checkout on the bookcase in the lunchroom. These are great resources! Just write your name down and enjoy!

If your child is in daycare: We have Chapel this Wednesday morning, led by Pastor Chris. Our Chapel offering this month goes to help our local Meals on Wheels.
