April 20-24, 2009 Knowing Jesus, Growing in Faith, Serving God’s Children
Dear Preschool parents, www.zioncrusaders.org
Our number of weeks of school left are really winding down…we’re down to 5!

A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about Peter and the crippled man, found in Acts 3:1-16. As God helped the man who was lame to walk, He helps us use our hands and feet to serve Him and others. Our Bible words are, “My heart leaps for joy,” from Psalm 28:7.
Tuesday- We will continue talking about the weather. We will learn more about clouds as we paint clouds to look like pictures. We will also get to check out books from the library!
Thursday- We will talk about the rain as we make raindrops to hang from the ceiling and experiment with water droplets.
If your child is in daycare-
Wednesday-We will have Chapel in the morning, led by Pastor Paepke, the retired pastor from Bethlehem Lutheran. Our Chapel offerings this month go to LAMP (Lutheran Association of Missionaries and Pilots).
Books of the Week: Charles G. Shaw’s It Looked Like Spilt Milk and Robert Kalan’s Rain
Song of the Week: “Wind, Wind” (tune: “Row, Row, Row Your Boat”)
Wind, wind blow the clouds, Fast across the sky. Blow the branches back and forth, in the trees so high.
From the Teacher’s Desk:
*This will be the last week for our Book-It Beginners program. Your child will receive their last pizza coupon on Thursday. Great job reading! We’ll have a tally of books in the next Monday note!
*The Volunteer and Family Appreciation Concert will be on Friday, May 1 at 7PM. All of the school children will be participating in this concert. Please come and enjoy various selections from our choirs and musical groups, plus some refreshments.
*The Summer Bridge books are once again for sale in front office for $12. They are a great way to help your child from getting rusty over the summer. A page a day can make a big difference.
*We’ll be collecting Frito Lay bags through April 24 to help celebrate Earth Day. The class that collects the most will be awarded a pizza party by Chester Cheetah.

I pray that you have a fantastic week, knowing that God would rather give up His only Son than spend eternity without you! Please feel free to call me anytime with questions or concerns!
