Five more weeks of school remaining! And so much to do…
A Peek at our Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about when Jesus appeared to the Emmaus disciples, found in Luke24:13-35. We learn that Jesus teaches us that He loves us enough to die for us so that we can be God’s children. Our Bible words are from 2 Timothy 3:14, “Continue in what you have learned.”
Monday- We will make our own snack as we practice spreading cream cheese or peanut butter on bagel halves and trying kiwi fruit. We will also do some experiments with wind and what kinds of things will blow away.
Wednesday-We have Chapel in the morning, led by Pastor Paepke, the retired pastor from Bethlehem Lutheran. Our Chapel offering this month goes to LAMP (Lutheran Association of Missionaries and Pilots). We will visit the school library to get new books. We will also work with Letter Zz. Please help your child choose something that begins with Letter Zz to bring to school. Your children will also get to bring home their ABC books! They’re so excited!
Friday- We will have centers that include matching upper- and lowercase letters and experimenting with rain drops and if we can get raindrops to combine or split. We will also make rain toys—EACH CHILD WILL NEED TO BRING AN EMPTY 20oz. POP/WATER BOTTLE THIS DAY!

Book of the Week- Pat Hutchins’ The Wind Blew
From the Teacher’s Desk-
*This will be our last week for the Book-It Beginners Program
. Your child will receive their last pizza coupon on Friday! Great job reading!
*The Volunteer & Family Appreciation Spring Concert will be on Friday, May 1st at 7PM. All of the school children will be participating in this performance. Come and hear musical “thank-you’s” from our choirs and musical groups.
*Mark your calendars now! We will have a preschool play on Wednesday, May 13th at 7PM. The two classes will each perform a short play and then we’ll have some refreshments. *Preschool graduation will be on Friday, May 22 after our Chapel service, which begins at 8:30AM.
*The Summer Bridge books are once again on sale in the office for $12. These are a great way to help keep your child from getting rusty during the summer with their fine motor skills. Just one page a day can really make a difference! The preschool-kindergarten level would be just right for your little one.
*We will be collecting Frito Lay bags until April 24 in honor of Earth day. The class that collects the most bags will win a pizza party, delivered by Chester Cheetah.
