April 13-17, 2009 Knowing Jesus, Growing in Faith, Serving God’s Children
Dear Preschool parents, www.zioncrusaders.org
I hope that you all had a fantastic Easter break, worshipping our risen Savior. Now we’re back to the routine with only 6 more weeks of school!
A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about Easter, found in John 20. We celebrate that Jesus is alive. Our Bible words are, “Jesus is alive!.”
Tuesday- We will begin talking about the weather and clouds. We will listen to the New Horizons band. We will graph what kind of weather is our favorite. We will also get to check out books from the library!
Thursday- We will make cotton ball clouds and learn about the different types of clouds that God makes.
If your child is in daycare-
Wednesday-We will have Chapel in the morning, led by Pastor Lindenberg, from Peace Lutheran. Our Chapel offerings this month go to LAMP (Lutheran Association of Missionaries and Pilots).
Book of the Week: Eric Carle’s Little Cloud
Song of the Week: “Rain, Rain, Go Away” (traditional nursery rhyme)
Rain, rain, go away. Little (insert your child’s name) wants to play.
From the Teacher’s Desk:
*Zion’s Children’s Consignment Sale will be Friday and Saturday, April 17 & 18. Three dollars will get you into the early bird sale Friday night 5-7PM or come on Saturday from 7:30-1PM.
*The Volunteer and Family Appreciation Concert will be on Friday, May 1 at 7PM. All of the school children will be participating in this concert. Please come and enjoy various selections from our choirs and musical groups, plus some refreshments.
*The Summer Bridge books are once again for sale in front office for $12. They are a great way to help your child from getting rusty over the summer. A page a day can make a big difference.
*We’ll be collecting Frito Lay bags through April 24 to help celebrate Earth Day. The class that collects the most will be awarded a pizza party by Chester Cheetah.
I pray that you have a fantastic week, knowing that God would rather give up His only Son than spend eternity without you! Please feel free to call me anytime with questions or concerns!
