March 23-27, 2009 Knowing Jesus, Growing in Faith, Serving God’s Children
Dear Preschool parents, www.zioncrusaders.org
What an exciting weekend we had with our spring blizzard! I hope that you all made it through warm and safe. But, now back to our routine!
A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about Zacchaeus, found in Luke 19:1-10. We learn that Jesus loves us more than anyone else loves us; His love moved Him to suffer and die in our place in order to pay the penalty for our sins. Our Bible words are from John 15:14, ‘[Jesus said,] “You are My friends.”
Tuesday- Snow Day! Feel free to hang on to those library books another week or bring them back on Thursday, your choice.
Thursday-We will begin some Easter fun as we make chicks from our feet! We will also talk about eggs and animals that hatch from eggs. Your child will also receive their first Pizza Hut certificate for the Book-It Beginners program. We will continue the program through April and get one more certificate.
If your child is in daycare-
Wednesday-We will have Chapel in the morning, led by our Pastor Lockie. Our Chapel offerings this month go to help support Jason Duley, who is at the seminary preparing to become a pastor. Jason is our Pastor Duley’s youngest son.
Book of the Week: Daisy and the Egg
Song of the Week: “I Wish I Were a Teeny Tiny Egg” (tune: If You’re Happy and You Know It) by Liz Ryerson
Oh, I wish I were a teeny tiny egg. Oh, I wish I were a teeny tiny egg. I would roll and roll around, Rolling all around the ground. Oh, I wish I were a teeny tiny egg.
From the Teacher’s Desk:
*This is the last week to sign up for preschool and kindergarten spots before they open to the public. Kindergarten will open to the public on March 27 and preschool on March 30.
*Reminder—we will be out of school and daycare from Thursday, April 9-13 for our Easter break. School and daycare will resume on Tuesday, April 14.
*You are invited for a fantastic presentation by Brian Young, from the Creation Institute, on Wednesday, March 25 at Bethlehem Lutheran at 7:15PM. If you’ve ever wondered how to defend our creation beliefs to a scientific world, come and hear Brian explain it from a Biblical perspective. He will also be at Calvary Baptist at 9:30AM the same day, speaking with the combined 3rd-5th grade students.
I pray that you have a fantastic week, knowing that we are blessed far more than we really deserve! Please feel free to call me with any questions or concerns!
