Happy Valentine’s week! I hope that you remember that God would rather give up His only Son than spend eternity without you.
A Peek at the Week:
This week in Jesus Time we learn about the ten men with leprosy, found in Luke 17:11-19. We learn that Jesus promises to answer our prayers, to be with us when we are sick, and to give us what we need. Our Bible verse is from Jeremiah 33:3, “Call to Me and I will answer you.”
Monday-We will watercolor some hearts for the hallway and we will also be visited by our Chapel buddies, who will interview us in order to make a book about us.
Wednesday-Mrs. G has to report for jury duty, so Mrs. Green and Miss Amy will be taking over! We will have Chapel in the morning, led by Pastor Lindenberg from Peace Lutheran. Our Chapel offerings this month go to Zion’s food bank. Your child is welcome to bring money or non-perishable food for offering. We will also be visiting our school library to check out books—bring back those old books! We will be working with letter Pp this week. Please help your child bring something that begins with letter Pp.
Friday-We will have centers that include heart tic-tac-toe games, comparing numbers on hearts to see which is more or less, and graphing the colors of conversation hearts. Our Valentine party will begin at 10AM for the AM class and 1:45PM for the PM class. We will have ice cream sundaes, make some heart hats and then pass out our valentines. THERE WILL BE NO AFTERCARE (3-5:30PM) ON FRIDAY! Grades K-5 dismiss at 11:15AM for parent-teacher conferences.

From the Teacher’s Desk:
*This is our last week for the Pennies for Patients program. As of Monday, we were $200 short of the $1650 goal—one that would make teachers have to wear moustaches for a day! Our final goal is $2,000. Thanks so much for your generosity!
*NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY, FEB. 16 due to Presidents’ Day. We will do letter Qq on Wednesday, Feb. 18, so send your child prepared!
*February book orders have gone home. They need to be returned on Wednesday, Feb. 11 if you’re going to order. Make checks to “Scholastic Book Clubs.”
