Thank you so much, parents, for your understanding about the short school day on Monday. If you didn’t know, it was my brother-in-law’s funeral—the one I had spoken about at the Teddy Bear tea party who had liver cancer. Thank you to everyone for the prayers and nice words. My family and I sure appreciated it. But…with the grace of God life does go on, doesn’t it.
This week in Jesus Time we learn about when God blessed Abraham, found in Genesis 1:14-19; 15:1-6. We learn that God gives us nighttime to enjoy and to rest. Because God has shown us how much He loves us in Jesus, we can also be sure of His love and care for us through the night.
On Tuesday, we will begin painting some apples to decorate our room with and we will also see how much we weigh and how tall we are. We will also go the school library on Tuesday. Please help your child remember to bring back their book.
On Thursday we will try our hand at painting some starry skies. We will also do an experiment about eye dialation.
If your child is in daycare, we will have Chapel on Wednesday morning with Pastor Lindenberg from our sister church, Peace Lutheran. Our Chapel offering this month is going to Zion’s Adoption Fund.
Thank you to everyone who donated undies and pants for our “accident” drawer. We’re stocked full and say thanks for your generosity!
The PTL Open House and Pizza Night is next Monday, Sept. 29 beginning at 6PM. The cost for pizza is $4 per person or $10 per family. We will get the information about the fall fundraiser, be able to order Zion T-shirts, and get to ramble through all the rooms to see some things the kids have been working on! We hope to see you there!
Mark your calendars now! All classes and daycare will dismiss at 11:15AM on Thursday, Oct. 9 as all of us teachers will be heading to Chamberlain that afternoon for the SD Lutheran Teachers Conference. There will be no school/daycare on Friday, Oct. 10 or Monday, Oct. 13. Everything will resume on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
