We are beginning to settle into our routine now. I’ve found in my 9 years of teaching that it usually takes these little ones about 6 weeks to really get settled into a new environment. We’re well on our way!

This week in Jesus Time we learn about the fall into sin, found in Genesis 3. We learn that God made all people, but sadly, people sin. God promised and sent Jesus to forgive us and make us friends with God again.
On Monday we will be attempting to make paper plate masks that resemble us. We will begin talking about our five senses and what we do with them.
On Wednesday we have Chapel in the morning with Pastor Sturzenbecher from our sister church Divine Shepherd. We will try our hand at making some salt dough handprints and measuring how tall we are. We will also have Library on Wednesday. Bring those library books back! We will have a guest speaker from the Humane Society coming on Wednesday afternoon.
On Friday we will have centers that include painting our handprints, practicing writing our names, some egg carton counting and drawing and dictating a story. We will all make a puzzle of our own picture to take home and put back together.

I need your child to bring an empty plastic bottle (preferably clear) to school by Friday. We will be using them for a Noah’s Ark art project next week.

If anyone has any old, outgrown undies or pants they’d be willing to donate, we could sure use them. My supply of extra clothes for potty accidents has been depleted. If you have any you’d be willing to part with, let me know! Thanks!

If your child is in daycare, we will have a lockdown practice on Tuesday. Our liaison officer, Officer Tollman, will also come to the school to talk to us about lockdowns.

The PTL Open House and Pizza Night is next Monday, Sept. 22 beginning at 6PM. The cost for pizza is $4 per person or $10 per family. We will get the information about the fall fundraiser, be able to order Zion T-shirts, and get to ramble through all the rooms to see some things the kids have been working on! We hope to see you there!
