May 19-23, 2008 Knowing Jesus, Growing in Faith, Serving God’s Children
Dear Preschool parents (Tues/Thurs), www.zioncrusaders.org
Two last class days left! Where has the time gone? Your little ones have grown and blossomed right under my nose this year! Thank you for letting us be one of your child’s first teachers.
This week in Jesus Time we learn that God gives us His words of salvation, found in John 5:39 and 2 Timothy 3:14-17. We learn that God’s Word is the means of grace through which we become God’s children through faith; we receive forgiveness of sins through the saving work of Jesus and we have the promise of eternal life; we receive power to live a God-pleasing life. We thank God for the blessings of His Word. If your child is in daycare, we will have Chapel on Friday morning, led by Pastor Duley. Our Chapel offering for May goes to the Dakota Boys’ Ranch.
On Tuesday we will be decorating a picture frame to go with a class picture we took last week. We will also go on a bug hunt. We will also go to the library on Tuesday to share the story The Very Lonely Firefly. We will not be checking out any more books! All books need to be returned by May 21. If you cannot find the book, we will need $5 to help cover replacement costs.
On Thursday we will be doing some clean-up in the room as we shaving cream the tables and clean out our cubbies. We will play some of our favorite games, such as Red Rover. We will also have Music on Thursday.
Leftover milks and lunches can be carried over to next fall or you can be reimbursed. Just let the lunch ladies, Mrs. Green or myself know!
Save TODAY, Tuesday, May 20 on your calendars for the PTL End of the Year picnic at 6PM at the old Storybook Island. You will want to head down Canyon Lake Road and turn at the Rapid City Parks Dept. building, right across the road from Sioux San. You’ll head down the road a little until you get to the parking lot and picnic shelter. They are asking everyone to bring a main dish and a salad or dessert to share. Plates, utensils, and drinks will be provided. And it sounds like we’ll have some pretty good weather! We’ve had really cold, rainy weather the last few years!
Our last day of class will be on Thursday, May 22. We will have daycare on Friday, May 23 for our regular daycare kids that need it, but everything dismisses at 11:15AM on Friday, May 23 for summer vacation!
Make sure to get your child registered for our Vacation Bible School! It will be June 2-6 from 9AM to noon and it’s free! Your child is also welcome to bring their friends. Registration forms can be found on the little table right beside the wish tree just inside the front doors. Return to Miss Nora, the school secretary, or me when you’re done.
I pray that you have a great week! Thank you so much for letting us have your little ones this past year. It has been so neat to be able to see all the growth in your children over these past 9 months. I look forward to having them return after summer, ready to begin all of the next pre-kindergarten lessons! Have a great summer and God’s richest blessings to you and your family!
