April 28-May 2, 2008
Knowing Jesus, Growing in Faith, Serving God’s Children
Dear Preschool parents (MWF), www.zioncrusaders.org
Here we are! Down to the last 4 weeks of school and they will go by even faster than the rest of the school year did!

This week in Jesus Time we learn about Philip and the Ethiopian, found in Acts 8:26-40. We learn that God makes us His children through Baptism and that Jesus make this possible by His death and resurrection. We will have Chapel on Wednesday morning, led by Pastor Sturzenbecher from our sister church, Divine Shepherd. Our last Chapel offering for April goes to the Rapid City Food Bank, so food offerings are great, too!
On Monday we will make our own buggy snack, crackers and peanut butter with legs and antennae! We will also take a look at a short internet clip explaining insect body parts and we will make our own insects out of salt dough.
On Wednesday we will be working with our alphabet as we play letter board bingo where we have to write the letters on our bingo board before we can play. We will also have Library on Wednesday.
On Friday we will be doing centers that include decorating our insects we will make on Monday and a game in which we sort and group pictures based on their beginning sounds. We will also practice for our preschool plays.

You guys are awesome! We had a total of 782 cut-outs turned in during our two months of Book-It Beginners! What a great job you did reading with your children! They will be receiving their last pizza coupon on Monday. Enjoy that pizza for a job well done!

Our chicken eggs will (pray really hard!) begin hatching sometime this week! We’ll keep them for a few days before the 3 year old class takes them back to Old MacDonald’s Farm.

The preschool classes will each be putting on a short play on Wednesday, May 14 at 7PM. The morning class’s play is “Hetty Hackett’s Farm” and the afternoon class’s play is “Grumpy Bear.” We will do the plays and then have a small snack. Don’t forget your cameras and don’t be late or you’ll miss them!

Save Tuesday, May 20 on your calendars for the PTL End of the Year picnic at 6PM at the old Storybook Island. If you’re not sure where that’s at, just ask!

Mark your calendars now for preschool graduation! Our last day will be on Friday, May 23. We will have Chapel at 8:30AM and then the preschool and kindergarten graduations will follow after that. We will have a cake reception and then your child is free to begin their summer vacation! Grandparents and friends are welcome to come and don’t forget your camera! We will have daycare until 11:15AM for those that need to stay. The whole school then dismisses at 11:15AM for summer vacation.

I pray that you have a great week! Please feel free to call my anytime with questions or concerns.
