Here we are to Valentine’s Week! How exciting!

This week in Jesus Time we learn about the ten men with leprosy, found in Luke 17:11-19. We learn that Jesus promises to answer our prayers, to be with us when we are sick, and to give us what we need. We will have Chapel on Wednesday morning, led by Pastor Paepke, from our sister church Bethlehem Lutheran. Our chapel offering for February is going to Zion Food Bank. Food donations, as well as monetary, are welcome this month.
On Monday we will be making Valentine hats and some special valentines for our parents!
On Wednesday we will have Library and also our Valentine parties. The AM class party will begin at 10AM and the PM class party will begin at 1:45PM. We will be making ice cream sundaes, doing an art project and passing out our valentines.
On Friday we will have some valentine centers where we make a heart book and play a counting game with hearts. We will also play an ABC game with missing hearts.

Remember, that there will be no school or daycare for grades kindergarten through grade 5 on Friday, BUT PRESCHOOL and PRESCHOOL DAYCARE WILL BE IN SESSION. We will be having pizza and fruit for hot lunch.
There will be NO SCHOOL or DAYCARE on Monday, Feb. 18, as we celebrate Presidents’ Day. School and daycare will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 19.

We have had a lot of sickness going through preschool and the school. If your child is running a fever or just not acting like themselves, please keep them home. We’ve had a plethera of ear infections, strep throat and also influenza A and B. Even I caught something bacterial!

This is the last week to bring in your pennies! We are working on a new service project called Pennies for Patients where we try to collect as many pennies (and other coins) for the continuing research of childhood leukemia. Our goal is to raise $1,000 and we have surpassed it as of last week! How awesome! Thanks for your help and let’s see how much farther we can go!

I invite you to join us for Lenten services on Wednesdays here at Zion. Services are held at 10AM and 7PM. There is a light supper served at 5:20PM. If you don’t have a church home, please come and prepare your hearts to remember the sacrifice that Jesus made just for you. Remember, God gave up His child in order to keep you. Would you be willing to do the same?
