Here we are in February! The rest of the year will just seem to fly by!
This week in Jesus Time we learn about when Jesus blessed the children, found in Mark 10:13-16. We learn that Jesus loves and calls all of us to follow Him, no matter how old, or young, we are. If your child is in daycare, we will have Chapel on Wednesday morning, led by our Pastor Lockie. Our Chapel offering for January goes to Zion Food Bank.
We will jump into some valentine-themed learning this week. We will make bumblebees for our bulletin board and then we will be working on number recognition and number order as we glue numbered hearts in a row. We will also go to the library on Tuesday.
On Thursday we will marble-paint heart shapes and then we will work on our bags for our Valentine party. We will also have Music on Thursday.

I am missing one of the yellow field trip shirts from our trip last Thursday. If your child wore it home from the Stock Show trip, could you please return it so we have enough for a full class again? Thanks!

We have had a lot of sickness going through preschool and the school. Last week a third of the children were gone from each class. If your child is running a fever or just not acting like themselves, please keep them home. We’ve had a plethera of ear infections, strep throat and also influenza A and B.

This Friday is a PTL Family Fellowship night at the Swim Center from 6:30-8PM. Come and join us for some splashing good fun!

We will be having our Valentine party on Thursday, Feb. 14. If you could help out in any way, please let me know! We will begin at 10AM with some special snack and maybe a craft and then pass out our valentines.
We will have preschool and preschool daycare like normal on Friday, Feb. 15. However, kindergarten through grade 5 will be off for parent-teacher conferences. Preschool will have spring conferences in March. There will be no school or daycare on Monday, Feb. 18 for everyone.

Keep saving your pennies! We are working on a service project called Pennies for Patients this week where we try to collect as many pennies (and other coins) for the continuing research of childhood leukemia. You can start bringing in your pennies beginning this week and go up until Feb. 14. Our school goal is to raise $1,000 and the class that raises the most gets a pizza party!! You can track our progress on the graphs outside the 5th grade room.
