Wow! I hope that you all stayed warm this past weekend. What a cold snap we are having.

This week in Jesus Time we learn about when Jesus was baptized, found in Matthew 3:13-17. We learn that God was pleased that Jesus was baptized for us; He is pleased to make us His children in Baptism. If your child is in daycare, we will have Chapel on Wednesday morning, led by Pastor Sturzenbecher from Divine Shepherd. Our Chapel offering for January goes to Bethesda.
We will have one more “snowman” day before we move on to a little western stuff. We will do some free painting and play a dice game called “Roll-A-Snowman.” On Thursday we will begin some cowboy and cowgirl stuff as we get ready to go visit the Stock Show on Jan. 31. We will make some cowboys and cowgirls and learn some action poems about the things they wear.
We will go to the library on Tuesday and Music on Thursday.

Everyone did pass at the hearing screening last Thursday. So now we know for sure that it IS selective hearing! 

FIELD TRIP! We will be visiting the Black Hills Stock Show on Thursday, Jan.31. We will be leaving at 8:45AM to go to the Event Center to see part of the Belle Classic Team Roping and then over to the Civic Center for our program and the petting zoo. If you can help drive us there and chaperone, please let me know by Tuesday, Jan. 29.

Start saving your pennies! We will be starting a new mission called Pennies for Patients next week where we try to collect as many pennies (and other coins) for the continuing research of childhood leukemia. We have a kindergartener this year that took her last pill last week and will be getting her chemotherapy port out this week! She is a miracle and our goal is to help make more miracles! You can start bringing in your pennies next week and go up until Feb. 14.

I will send home a class list on Thursday in case you want to start working on Valentines. If your child has the interest and the ability, go ahead and have them sign their name on the cards! It’s great practice!
