This week in Jesus Time we learn about boy Jesus in the temple-church, found in Luke 2:41-52. We learn that God sends people to help us learn about Him and about Jesus, our Savior. We will have Chapel on Wednesday afternoon at 2:15PM led by the 3rd grade class. Our chapel offering for January is going to Bethesda.
We will continue our learning about snow and winter. We will be making some glue-and-glitter snowflakes on Monday. We will also read the story The Mitten, by Jan Brett and then make our own book about what would fit in a mitten. On Wednesday we will work on Letter Mm. Please help your child bring something that begins with Mm to school on Wednesday. We will also have Library on Wednesday. We will also have hearing screening on Wednesday by one of the audiologists from Kibben Kuster. If there is a concern or your child needs further testing, we will let you know. On Friday we will have centers that include practicing writing Kk, Ll, and Mm, a snow memory game, making our own shaved ice to make snow cones, and a snowball target game. We will also be making a chart about the signs of winter.

There is information in the folders about buying your child’s class book that will be published and hard-bound. This is totally optional and is not a fundraiser. Each of your children will have a page in the book. If you would like to order, please have orders back to me by Friday at the latest.

Remember that there will be NO SCHOOL or DAYCARE on Monday, January 21 due to the Martin Luther King, Jr. day. School and daycare will resume like normal on Tuesday, Jan. 22.

FIELD TRIP! We will be taking a field trip to the Black Hills Stock Show on Monday, Jan. 28. The morning class will be leaving the school at 9AM and going to the Event Center to see part of the Fort Dodge Ranch Horse Competition and then over to the Civic Center for our program and the petting zoo. The afternoon class will leave at 12:15PM to go to the Civic Center for our program, petting zoo and then to see part of the North American Sheepdog Trials. If you would be able to help drive us there and chaperone, please let me know by Friday, Jan. 25. Thanks!
