I am having a hard time believing that we are actually at the last week of school for the 2007 year! This month has just zoomed by and the week will, too, I think!
This week in Jesus Time we learn about when the shepherds worshipped Jesus, found in Luke 2:15-20. We learn that God helps us to tell everyone the great Good News of Jesus, who was born to save all people. We will actually do a little Christmas caroling around the school in order to share that Good News. We will not have Chapel this week as the big kids are attending the Advent services. Our chapel offering for December is going to help Pastor Utecht and his ministry on the reservation. There are flyers in the hallway with offering ideas or money is always welcome, too.
Our letter of the week is Letter Kk. Please help your child bring something that begins with Kk to school on Wednesday. We will also have Library on Wednesday. The librarians DO want us to check out this week, as we won’t do so again until Jan. 8.
We will be doing a Merry Christmas search and find, where we look for the letters in the words “Merry Christmas.” We are also working hard on some surprises for our parents’ Christmas gifts.
Our Christmas parties will be on Friday, Dec. 21 at 10AM and 1:45PM. Each child will need to bring one wrapped book for our book exchange. You do NOT need to put names on the books. We will decorate some sugar cookies for snack, do a game or craft and then do our book exchange. You are welcome to come to our party if you’re available. That will also be our last day of class and daycare for 2007. Classes and daycare will resume as normal on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008
The lunch menus for the first week and a half of January will be in the folders. Please have them turned in by Wednesday. Thanks!
If you will be in town and don’t have a church home, I lovingly invite you to please come and worship Jesus with us, just as the shepherds did on that first Christmas. There are several opportunities:

*Christmas Eve, 5:30PM Sunday School Christmas Program
*Christmas Eve, 10PM Youth-led Candlelight Service
*Christmas Day, 10AM Worship for the newborn Savior!
