Nov. 12-16, 2007 Knowing Jesus, Growing in Faith, Serving God’s Children
Dear Preschool parents (MWF), www.zioncrusaders.org
Here we are to the holidays countdown! It always seems like after Halloween we just race right to the new year! So hang on and make sure that you read these notes completely!
This week in Jesus Time we learn that God hears our prayers. We will use selected Scripture verses. We learn that God helps us pray for our needs and for one another. We will have chapel on Wednesday at 2:15PM, led by our 4th grade class. Pastor Lockie will visit the AM class for Jesus Time on Wednesday. Our chapel offerings this month go to Rapid City’s Meals on Wheels.
We will continue learning about turkeys and Thanksgiving this week. We will be making log cabins and Mayflower ships this week. We are working hard on some turkey songs for our Grandparents’ Day next Wednesday. We will also continue learning our songs and finger plays for our Christmas service, “Angel, Angel.” Our Christmas service will be on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 7PM.
Our letter of the week is Letter Gg. Please help your child bring something that begins with Gg to school on Wednesday. We will also have Library on Wednesday. Please help your child to bring their book back in order to get a new one.
Friday, Nov. 16 will be the PTL Family Swim Night at the Roosevelt pool from 6:30-8PM. It’s fun to be all together in the water with our school families!
Zion’s Craft Fair will be on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 8AM-2PM. Come and do some early Christmas shopping and get some homemade goodies from the bake sale!
Our Grandparents’ Day will be on Wednesday, Nov. 21. This is only be a half day of school, with classes and daycare all dismissing at 11:15AM for Thanksgiving break. BOTH classes are welcome to come to chapel at 8:30AM. After chapel, preschool and kindergarten will do some songs and poems for our guests (if you don’t have grandparents in the area, come yourselves or special friends, aunts, uncles, etc. work great, too!). The preschoolers will then have some snack with their guests and then they are excused to begin Thanksgiving break. We will have daycare until 11:15AM for those that need it.
There will be no preschool or daycare on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 22 & 23 due to the Thanksgiving holiday. School and daycare will resume on Monday, Nov. 26.
Rapid City’s Parade of Lights will be on Saturday, Nov. 24 downtown beginning around 5:45-6PM. It is a great start to the Christmas season and Zion will have a float in the parade!
Mark your calendars now! The Preschool-Kindergarten Christmas Service will be on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 7PM. We will be doing an adaptation of the book “Brown Bear, Brown Bear,” called “Angel, Angel.” Remember to bring those cameras!
I pray God’s richest blessings on your week. Please feel free to call my anytime with questions or concerns.
