What an unexpectedly beautiful weekend we had! I hope that your family was able to get out and enjoy it.
We have a short week due to parent-teacher conferences on Thursday and Friday.
This week in Jesus Time we learn about Daniel and the lions’ den, found in Daniel 6. We learn that God sends His angels to protect us and rescue us from harm and danger. God sent His Son, Jesus, to recue us from the evils of sin, death, and the devil. We will have Chapel on TUESDAY at 2:15PM, led by Pastor Jones from Bethlehem Lutheran. Our Chapel offering this month goes to help out Care-Net Pregnancy Center. Your child is welcome to bring money or baby supplies for offering this month.
We will be doing some spider stuff on Monday. We will graph who likes spiders and who does not. We will make spider webs on paper plates. We will also enjoy the Raffi song “There’s A Spider on the Floor.”
Our letter of the week is Letter Ee. Please help your child bring something that begins with Ee to school on Wednesday. We will also have Library on Wednesday. Please help your child to bring their book back in order to get a new one.
Parent-teacher conferences are on Thursday and Friday morning. If your scheduled time will not work, please see me so that we can reschedule.
We will have 10 spots available for morning daycare on Thursday, Nov. 1. Kindergarten through grade 5 have class until 11:15AM and then classes and daycare will all dismiss at 11:15AM on Thursday, Nov. 1. There is no class or daycare on Friday, Nov. 2.
The All Saints’ Gathering is coming! This is Zion’s alternative to trick-or-treating. There will be fun and games and lots of candy here at Zion on Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 5-8PM. Friends are welcome to come, too! We are asking that you bring one bag of candy for each child you are bringing, so that there is lots of candy for all!
The teachers are also running the Creation Cake Walk, so if you’re a baker we would appreciate any donations of cakes or cupcakes! Thanks!
Nov. 16 will be the PTL Family Swim Night at the Roosevelt pool from 6:30-8PM. It’s fun to be all together in the water with our school families!
Mark your calendars now! The Preschool-Kindergarten Christmas Service will be on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 7PM. We will be doing an adaptation of the book “Brown Bear, Brown Bear,” called “Angel, Angel.” Remember to bring those cameras!
